Charlottesville native Alex Stultz founded RedStar Merchandise in 2001. Alex began working with Dave Matthews Band in college, and grew that relationship to a full-time career which eventually led to working with other artists. He finds the dynamic nature of the music industry rewarding and exciting, and is grateful to have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of talented artists and their teams.
Alex loves live music, travel, and spending time with his wife Tobey and their two daughters. He is an avid wine aficionado, and even makes his own.
Rick, a UVA alum, has worked in the music merchandise industry for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining RedStar Merchandise in 2011, Rick gained extensive experience through 13 years at Musictoday.
Rick manages daily operations at RedStar, including oversight of account managers and ongoing projects.
Rick is a fly-fishing enthusiast and is also passionate about golf, live music, single-barrel bourbons, travel, and enjoying life with his wife Lizzie and their two children.
Jenn has been with RedStar Merchandise since 2006. A Charlottesville native and graduate of JMU, she assisted with the start-up and growth of the company. In her current role, Jenn manages special projects, strategic growth, and financial planning.
Jenn loves cooking, the outdoors, travel, getting together with family and friends, and the adventures of parenting two boys with her husband, Ty.
Tobey began her career in the music industry in the 90s as a publicist with Girlie Action in NYC, where she worked on the front lines of the digital music revolution with various bands and companies including Napster.
In 2001, Tobey moved to Charlottesville where she married Alex and helped found and grow Red Star. In her current role she provides ongoing support primarily in the areas of marketing, business development, and client relations.
A lifelong music fan, Tobey loves going to shows in Charlottesville and elsewhere. She and Alex have two daughters.
Sarah has been with Red Star Merchandise since December 2014. A San Francisco transplant, she has lived in Charlottesville for six years.
Sarah oversees the financials for Red Star, and also manages and settles accounts for some of the company’s biggest clients. She loves spending time outdoors, traveling, and hanging out with friends.

3rd Annual SLOSS Music and Arts Festival
2017 marked the 3rd annual Sloss Music and Arts Festival in Birmingham, AL and the third year that RSM has handled the merch. Big names this year included Widespread Panic, Sturgill Simpson, Alabama Shakes, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Odesza, Phantogram, Judah & The Lion, and many more. From the internal team of vendors, staff, and volunteers to all of the performing artists, and most importantly all of the attendees…people work hard at SLOSS and are happy to be there.
